Making a return

Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision of temporarily closing my etsy store. While I knew it was the right choice because of a rough combination of school, family drama and relationship issues, I missed selling and the etsy community as a whole.

Things began to spiral and what was meant to be a month absence quickly became a six month absence and before I knew it, my store became lost.

Well, it's time to come back. Things in my personal life are looking much better, I quit my job (which was a big source of the drama) and now I have time to focus on the store and give my customers the attention they deserve.

In addition to nurturing my store back to health, I also have plans to kick start this team.

Thank you for your support and patience during this time. Transitions are never fun but usually rewarding in the end and I know this will be no different.

See you next year!

On feeling unmotivated

Hey dears!

I just updated the etsy page but I felt like coming here too.

Have any of you ever felt unmotivated? I closed my shop down in the beginning of January to update it after being cleaned out during the holidays and I've found that I've had a harder time than normal to get re-fired up about it.

I find that during the winter months, I become less and less motivated to do anything beyond the usual work and school. When the Spring and Summer are here, I feel antsy and ready to take on the world. Once the days start to get shorter, by the time it's 5:00, I'm ready to curl into bed with a book and just plan hide out.

Does anyone else feel this way or maybe it's just a "me" thing?

I'm definitely here to stay and this team is high on the list of things I feel good about. While I may not have motivation for my own shop at the moment, I don't foresee losing motivation about this anytime soon.

With all of that being said, it is approaching my favorite time of the year. The opening of Farmer's market. I know, I know, it's not until April but I need something to look forward to with snow on the ground.

If any of you are intersted in being a vendor this year, you can find more information here

I'll be back soon.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!

I feel like this has been the spot that I give the least attention to. As the "captain" of this team, I often struggle with guilt,  like I could be doing a little bit more, be a little bit more available or make sure that I'm in touch with your needs, questions and just overall be a good resource.

That's why, when I sat down to make a list of things I want to work on for the new year (definitely not goals or resolutions but just things that I'm going to make an honest attempt at), this team was right there at the top of the list.

Etsy is something I believe in, this community is something I'm invested in and I really believe that by communicating,  working with and learning from each other and just giving it an honest attempt, this team can be a fundamental part in success.

So, the first step in doing this is putting myself out there. I know I say it a thousand times over but I want to reassure you that I am 100% here as a resource to you. If you have any questions, comments, ideas or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I promise to get back to you as soon as I possibly can. If I don't know the answer, I will try to track down someone that does.

You can email me (onbeyondzebra89@gmail.com), contact me through etsy, get me on facebook (facebook.com/whitneyholland), send me smoke signals, I don't care. Just do not hesitate to be in touch with me.

Let's get the new year started off right and make this the best year for both our own shops and the team as a whole.
